William “Bill” Walker, 91 of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, April 12, 2024. Born on July 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Walter and Eunice Walker. Bill loved to travel, fishing, and being with his family. Bill was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
Bill is survived by his sister, Janice Hemphill, and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hammer Walker; brothers, James, Troy, Carl, Earl, Howard, and Clifford Walker.
The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm, Monday, April 15, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Jeff Lane officiating. Military honors provided by the NC National Guard and Caldwell County Veteran Honor Guard.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
